“A Sail Through Time” Returns

After a two-year hiatus, BBF guides will once again offer A Sail Through Time in partnership with the Liberty Fleet of Tall Ships. Sail alongside Boston’s vibrant neighborhoods, including Downtown, The Seaport District, South Boston, East Boston, Charlestown, and the North End. Enjoy stories of Boston’s diverse cultures and people that represent both Boston’s historical past and its vibrant present. New for 2026: Toward a More Perfect Union

After a successful launch last fall with member-only previews, our new tour – Toward a More Perfect Union – will be available to both members and the general public in 2026. Boston is often called the cradle of liberty – but what does that legacy mean today? This tour invites you to explore the powerful ideas that took root here – due process, separation of powers, and freedom of speech – and to examine how they were shaped by protest, oppression, and the determination to build something better.

Coming Soon: Two New Burying Grounds Tours

Boston By Foot volunteer guides are conducting in-depth research for two upcoming tours of Dorchester North Burying Ground and the Eliot Burying Ground. Their work brings together well-known histories and lesser-known stories to better reflect the full spectrum of individuals buried there — and, by extension, the evolving story of Boston itself. These tours will be presented in partnership with the City of Boston’s Historic Burial Ground Initiative as part of the City-wide celebrations marking the 250th anniversary.
