MONUMENTS AND PUBLIC HISTORY
An Exclusive Program for Members and Volunteers

Public historian and former BBF Docent Katie Schinabeck will give a virtual lecture on public history and monuments for BBF Volunteers and Members. What is public history? How can it help us better understand monuments and their place in our society? Katie will discuss strategies for analyzing and understanding monuments, both in the moment (like when giving a tour) and when there’s time for more in-depth research. Katie is a PhD Candidate in Public History at NC State University, a former BBF docent, and current educator at the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation in Virginia.
